Når teoriene til tidenes største økonom (John Maynard Keynes) ikke lengre virker i praksis, må vi ty til tidenes nest største økonom (Joseph Schumpeter).
Økonomisk motkonjunkturspolitikk virker i nedgangstider, men bare hvis man holdt igjen i de gode tidene. Norge gjorde det delvis, men verden som helhet gjorde ikke det. Det vil også gå kraftig utover Norge, selv om vi er bedre stilt enn mange andre land.
